Rachel Kiddell-Monroe has witnessed deadly conflicts and has seen first-hand, many of the atrocities committed in those settings. The YWCA Women of Distinction Awards this Thursday recognizes her impact in Social & Environmental Engagement, which she is quick to attribute to her colleagues.
“It is a work of cooperation and solidarity,” says the laureate, as she often repeats those words among others such as empathy, humanity and compassion. Because, beyond words, they are also solutions to hatred and misery. They are also powerful drivers of change.
